early bird

Today I would like to share with you a canvas with one of my fav saying.
I started with painting the canvas with DecoArt crackle paint.
Then I have used some paper die cuts and texture paste through the stencil for the BG.
The whole piece was coloured with Gelatos and Dylusions ink sprays.
I fussy cut the bird from a postcard, add some chipboards, burlap flowers, microbeads and a metal crown for embellishment.
There is also a feather, few enamel dots and some perlen pen dots.

address book

There is another fab challenge at Try it on Tuesday.
Our Theme this time is 'Crowning Glory'. In other words, add a Crown!
As always, its up to you what you make, as long as we can see the Crown!

My take on the theme is an address book for a hairdresser.
She is the queen of her profession for me, that's why the lady is wearing a crown.
I used A4 notebook and added another ,,cover''of heavy cardstock to it.
I have transfered a fussy cut image using gesso first.
Next I fastened lots of chipboards and metal charms ( including a comb and scissors) with gel medium.
Then I applied some heavy gesso and when it was dry started inking, painting and misting.
At the end I stamped some writing, added a few splashes of ink and glued the hot embossed letters.

Praca bierze udział w następujących wyzwaniach:
retrokraftshop: wyzwanie tematyczne
digi-scrappl: wyzwanie-na-maj-kobieta

today

I would like to share with you my hanging.
I have tried a new technique for the background here.
Firstly I dripped hot glue down the cardstock  to invoke the abstract pattern.
I found  the texture  quite  interesting.
When it was dry I primed it with gesso and coloured with Dylusions ink spray.
Then I added some stamping and 3 old brushes tied together and some wee flowers.
The butterfly was embossed with two Stampendous embossing enamels.
I finished the piece with splashing some white ink.

CANDY!

Hello my friends!
I am giving away this metal frame with a geco to a randomly selected winner.
This is a CNC machined piece by my son Marcin.
You can find how I used it in a previous post.

I am sure you can make something beautiful out of the frame!

To be in a chance of winning all you need to do is:
1. add the photo at the top of this post to your own sidebar with a link back here
2. leave me a comment under this post
I will draw the winner on June 25th.
Please note, candy only blogs will not be included in the draw
I ship worldwide.
Good luck to you all!

Marcin's gecko

I am so happy and proud to be a Guest Designer for Frilly and Funkie  today.
This is my take on the theme: Happy! Happy! Happy!
I loved doing this wall hanging for three reasons:
1) the metal frame with a gecko was handmade by my son and given to me as a
gift
2) metal parts and mixed media are my fav things to work with
3) love nature and wild animals seem to be so happy to me

Here you can see the naked frame

I primed the thick piece of cardboard with heavy gesso.
Then applied texture paste through the stencil.
Next it was time to attach the frame with extra heavy gel medium.
Time for the best part! I hoard lots of broken jewelry and the gecko
received a large amount.

Another wash of gesso was given. I have used various paints and inks to colour the whole piece. Sprayed some mists and then rubbed on some metallic gilding wax. I decided to do some stamping and heat embossing to add some interest to the background. The lettering is an altered chipboard. Isn't it a good team (Marcin+Lula) work?

You can win the same frame in my wee Candy in the next post!

I would also like to join in the following challenges:
creativeartistemixedmedia: colour board
citycrafter-262  I have used smooching, stenciling and sponging
