card for Chris

I made this card for my teamie Chris sending her get well soon wishes.

The background is made with gelatos, stenciled modelling paste and some black ink stamping.

The flower is handmade from several little fabric flowers.

We have a new challenge again over at Try it on Tuesday.

This time our theme is ,,Transport".

As always how you interpret this and what materials you use is entirely up to yourselves.
Are you  flying away,  driving your car,  riding a bicycle.......
show us how you would like to go on your journey.

My take on the theme is a card for a man who not only loves riding his bike but is also happy repairing it.

Today I want to share another MDF heart I have altered. There were some leavings of paper on the heart, but I thought it would give more interesting texture to the background so I left them.

I started with giving the whole surface a coat of heavy crackle paint from Deco Art. Then I arranged some metal parts from my ,,junk drawer'' including an old earring with a nice chain tassel.

I also added a metal flower and some chipboard flowers. All elements were glued with gel medium and given a coat of gesso. 

Then I started to colour the heart with acrylic paints and mists.

I also rubbed some metallic gilding wax and metal gloss paint on it and stamped some crackles with black ink. 

I added a vintage trinket from Prima( love it) and finished the whole piece with a lot of ink splashing.

Today I am  inspiring you with an altered frame at Mixed Media Mojo.

I used an old one, applied a coat of gesso and used an ordinary comb to deepen the grooves.

I glued two chipboard flourishes up and down the frame and gessoed them too. 

The frame was coloured with gelatos and dylusions ink spray. 

The frame is meant for a man so the ornaments are reduced to paper pieces, metal and resin parts and my fav vintage trinket from Prima, which reflect his hobbies.

heart

It is 1st of February today and it means another challenge other at Mixed Media Mojo.

This time the theme is Hearts. Twist: Paper Piecing.

                                        

I have altered an MDF heart. For the background I used decoupage paper, then gave it a coat of Prima texture paste through the stencil. As the twist is paper piecing I used it along with my stamps. Black glitter was used to emphasize the lettering.
